As the Client Relationship Coordinator for the photographer at this wedding, I have the privilege of hearing so many love stories. However, Lauren and Shawn’s day truly stands out. Their wedding at Venue at the Grove in Phoenix, Arizona was more than just beautiful. It was a Stunning Emotional Celebration filled with strength, love, and so much support from the people around them.
From the moment I learned about their story, I knew their day would be incredibly meaningful. Lauren and Shawn first met while working at the same hospital in downtown Phoenix. Shawn worked as a lead tech in interventional radiology, and Lauren worked full time while attending school to become an MRI tech. They crossed paths many times at work before finally going on their first date on September 24, 2023.
Then life took an unexpected turn. Just hours after that first date, Lauren received the devastating news that she had breast cancer. Instead of stepping away from such a new relationship, Shawn stepped up in the most incredible way. He suggested that Lauren schedule her chemo treatments on his day off so he could drive her and sit with her during the long treatments. Week after week, he showed up for her. He supported her through chemo, surgery, radiation, and all the ups and downs that came with it.
Through it all, they continued living life together. They traveled, went to concerts, and celebrated milestones like Lauren graduating from her MRI program and passing her national boards.
Their wedding day perfectly reflected their journey. The lawn and glowing trees at Venue at the Grove created a beautiful setting for their heartfelt ceremony. Friends and family surrounded them with so much love, and you could feel the emotion in every moment.
Lauren looked stunning in her white gown, while the bridesmaids wore sage green dresses and the groomsmen kept things classic with jackets and ties.
Lauren and Shawn’s wedding was truly a Stunning Emotional Celebration and a reminder that love can carry you through even the hardest seasons. It was such an honor for our team to capture it.
