It was sophomore year in English class, Chris sat behind her every day trying to get her attention regardless of the cost. She pretended to be completely uninterested. Every day before class he would hold the door greeting every single person with a hug… just so he could hug Kim. After all his persistence and her “lack of interest” she gave in. She gave him a chance. They’ve been together now for 10 years but it didn’t take that long for Kim to know that she would one day marry this man she made work so hard for her attention. He loves how caring and funny she is and she adores his genuine, sweet and loving spirit.
Chris did his homework for his proposal… he doesn’t like water and has never driven a boat. It was at Pier 54, a cute little outdoor restaurant on the water, that Chris went a few days earlier to make his dinner reservation and learn to drive the boat. A few days later he took Kim to dinner after a tough nursing school final. She knew something was up after he went to the bathroom twice in less than 10 minutes. After Chris excused himself the second time the restaurant manager came over and offered them the keys to the boat since they were first time dinners and you know, anyone can use the boat (wink wink)… again Chris doesn’t like water and Kim thinks he’s never driven a boat. They accept the keys and he takes her to the middle of the lake, stops the boat and invites Kim to sit in the driver seat. Once she’s seated she finds him on one knee asking her to marry him. To be his bride forever. Kim’s favorite part was the fact that he had a small video camera on the dash recording the whole thing!!
Chris and Kim, thank you for spending this time with me for you sunset DC Ranch engagement session! If your marriage is anything like the time we spent together, I know it’s going to be full of laughter!! I can’t wait for the wedding day! Hugs to you both.
