Alyssa and Tyler, thank you for letting us be part of September 18th! Their Villa Siena wedding in Gilbert, Arizona was an enchanting delightful wedding built around one choice. Tyler would see Alyssa for the first time as she walked down the aisle. Everything else in the day made room for that moment.
Alyssa loved how the venue looks, outside and in. She wanted an outdoor ceremony. She also wanted her guests comfortable. Villa Siena gives you both.
Her favorite spots were the courtyard and the main entrance. Ours too. The ivy-covered walls, the iron gates, and that big carved doorway make a backdrop you don’t have to dress up.
Alyssa and Tyler didn’t want a first look. They did want a quiet minute together before the ceremony. So they did a first touch.
They stood back to back outside the French doors, held hands, and read the private vows they’d written for each other. No peeking.
Chad photographed it and Alberto filmed it. Chad will tell you he was only tearing up because someone was cutting raw onions nearby. And a bug flew into his eye. Both eyes, actually.
It was the vows.
When we asked Alyssa what she hoped people would talk about afterward, she knew right away. The ceremony. Her walk out, and the two of them at the altar.
Because they saved the first look, that walk out carried everything. Tyler was so excited to see her come down the aisle. They exchanged rings at the courtyard’s stone fireplace under white and lavender florals. Then they walked back up a petal-covered aisle with their guests on their feet.
The color story was simple, and it worked. Bridesmaids wore purple. The groomsmen wore charcoal suits with purple ties. Tyler stood out in gray with a purple tie of his own and a lavender rose boutonniere.
Then there was the veil. Cathedral length, edged in lace. It hung from the antique armoire in the bridal suite that morning. Later, Chad spread it across the brick walkway at the main entrance for portraits. If you’ve ever wondered what Villa Siena’s front doors were made for, that’s the answer.
September in Gilbert is still warm. Alyssa and Tyler set out a basket of sandalwood fans with a “please take one” sign, so every guest had one for the ceremony.
It’s a small thing. It’s also exactly why Alyssa picked this venue. Outside, and comfortable.
If you’re torn between a first look and the aisle reveal, a first touch lets you keep both. You get a private moment to settle your nerves and say what you want to say. Then the aisle still belongs to the two of you.
After 26 years and 1,000+ weddings, here’s what we’ve learned: it works best with a little planning. Your Photography Coordinator builds it into your timeline so nobody is rushed. Your photographer finds a spot with good light and a little privacy. At Villa Siena, the French doors off the courtyard gave Alyssa and Tyler exactly that.
Alyssa and Tyler, thank you for trusting Chad, Alberto, and our whole team with your enchanting delightful wedding day.
