She doesn’t like squishy food and he is not fond of high places!! But the love these two have for each other definitely over shadow the things they dislike. Medium rare steak and oysters in the half shell are now part of Monica’s expanded pallet because she loves Mark. And walking over the arches, crossing bridges or climbing tall ladders at the Mesa Verde ruins may not be Mark’s favorite but with Monica by his side, he will tell you it was worth the adventure!
Kelly and Dennis, mutual friends of Mark & Monica, have absolutely nothing to do with this incredibly sweet couple EXCEPT… They are the sole reason these two exist as a couple!! So turns out that’s a little more than nothing :) As Kelly was talking with Mark about her friend, who is an amazing single mom and organ transplant coordinator, he knew he HAD to meet her. They also talked up Mark as this wonderful guys and complete gentleman… Monica then turned to Facebook to check him out and decided she wanted to meet him. They finally got to meet at Dennis’ birthday party back in March 2013 and spent the majority of the night talking. After a double date 2 weeks later they knew they wanted to take this further so Mark took her to El Encanto Mexican restaurant in Cave Creek for a nice lunch. He even brought her flowers, so when he had enchilada cheese all over his chin during lunch he was a little embarrassed, but Monica liked teasing him about it. After lunch they walked around the old shops and had a great time getting to know each other. Over the next 15 months their love for each other grew more and more and Mark was thinking a lot about proposing!!
Mark and Monica had briefly talked about marriage but what was coming would be a nice surprise for Monica. Mark was actually out purchasing a ring when he received a text message asking him to pick her up because she had been out with a friend and had a drink. That immediately stressed him out as he didn’t know where to hide the ring! He knew she would never look in the spare tire space so that’s where it was stashed for the time being! They had made plans to go to Sedona for forth of July last year and he wanted to propose that weekend. He came to stress again about the ring and where to put it… Monica was packing for him so he scrambled again to hide it. They made it to Sedona and after a dune buggy excursion they ended up walking the shops then finally seated near a big stone fireplace at El Rincon restaurant. They ordered drinks and Mark dropped to one knee at the table an asked her to marry him. It was a total surprise… the best surprise and of course she said YES!!
When she arrived to Villa Siena, so calm and joyful, she was more than ready to put her wedding gown on one last time… for the highly anticipated moment! Today is their wedding day. She stepped into the gown, zipped and buttoned by her daughter… the one person that she has done life with thus far. Monica sat in the bridal suite chair while her daughter, Chae helped her with her champagne colored shoes. She was now ready to meet her future husband at the end of the isle. Half way down the isle she met her dad as well as her step dad to be walked the rest of the way. So much thought went into their ceremony… including placing letters to be read at their 1 year anniversary not only from each other but from their parents and their children. This is a moment they both have waited for so long and the expressions and the emotion was felt throughout the entire courtyard and included several tears. And so many cheers of joy as they were announced the new Mr. and Mrs. Mark Bohdanowicz. Mark and Monica thank you for sharing soft look of love with each other, for smiling uncontrollably and for being so loving to all those around you. Congratulations to you both, it truly was an honor to be part of your wedding day!!
