The Academy Photo Awards for Photographers

I am SO excited to announce that out of the hundreds of images entered into The Academy Photo Awards, one of mine placed 4th in the Bridal Party category and 2 of my weddings place in the top 10 for the Overall Wedding Coverage category. Thank you all so much for your support, it’s such an honor to be considered for the Academy Photo Awards!!

Just a little about the judging process… Images are anonymously shortlisted by a panel of expert wedding photographers. The top 50 of each category will be given to another group of expert wedding photographers to determine the winning images for each category, the top 50 images in each category will be given a score based on the following criteria: 20% Lighting, 20% Composition, 20% Moment, 20% Artistic Merit and 20% Social Voting.

Social Voting will be the portion of the awards that viewers and participants have some say in. The top 50 from each category will be added to albums on The Academy’s Facebook page, the number of likes each photo gets will go towards the social voting section of the image score.
