Amber and Drazen’s Desert Charm Engagement session was one of those evenings that felt almost magical from the start. These two are so easygoing and genuinely fun to be around, and you can feel the excitement they have for their wedding day in every moment. We met at Papago Park to kick things off, and right away it felt like we were just hanging out with friends who happened to be getting their photos taken.
Their story makes the whole session even sweeter. Amber and Drazen met at work during COVID, and it quickly became clear to everyone around them that they shared something special. Drazen tried to win her over for a while—and it didn’t work… until suddenly, it totally did. Now here they are, planning a life together! He proposed at sunset, which couldn’t be more fitting for two people who love the calm beauty of the desert.
We chose Papago Park and the Desert Botanical Garden because the desert truly is part of their story. Amber grew up right next to South Mountain, where hiking was basically a weekly tradition. Drazen spent his childhood surrounded by the peace and quiet of Tonto Hills, with the kind of views that stay with you forever. So wandering through warm desert light, tall saguaros, and dreamy mountain backdrops felt like the perfect way to honor their roots.
Every moment with these two felt natural, relaxed, and full of laughs. Whether they were walking hand-in-hand across the rocks or getting cozy in the soft glow of golden hour, they brought such a charming, intimate energy to their session. Their connection shines so clearly, and I’m already counting down the days until we get to celebrate their wedding. If their desert charm engagement session was this fun, their big day is going to be unforgettable!
