Jackee and Jeremy met at Veterans Oasis Park in Chandler, Arizona long before their fun loving session ever happened there. It’s the place where Jeremy first asked if he could call her his girlfriend, and where they had their first kiss. So when it came time to plan engagement photos, there was really only one location that made sense.
As Jackee and Jeremy’s photographer for this fun loving session, I spent about an hour with two people who are just plain fun to be around. They tease, they laugh at each other’s expense in the sweetest way, and that energy shows up in every frame.
They met on Facebook Dating, but their real first meeting happened at The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. Jackee remembers Jeremy’s smile the moment their eyes met across the room. Jeremy remembers thinking he didn’t stand a chance with someone so beautiful and so smart. She proved him wrong.
Jackee and Jeremy did wedding planning backward. They booked their venue, photographer, and DJ, and Jackee bought her dress, all before they were engaged. Jeremy proposed on a pedestrian bridge over the Missouri River, on the state line between Nebraska and Iowa, during a Fourth of July family trip. Jackee thought they were posing for a photo. When she turned around, he was already on one knee.
Jeremy is a proud Air Force veteran, and the Field of Honor at Veterans Oasis Park is one of his favorite spots in Phoenix. He brought Jackee here on an early date, and that visit is where their relationship became official. Photographing them here, walking the trails, sitting by the water, and standing at the memorial, meant capturing them exactly where their story took its real turn.
