Giddy in Love Session | Audra & Garrett

There’s a particular kind of ease that shows up in photos when a couple has already stopped worrying about the camera. With their giddy in love session, Audra and Garrett had that from the first frame.

We met them at The Grove in Gilbert as the light was doing that late afternoon thing where everything turns gold and soft at the same time. The orchard rows made for the kind of natural framing you can’t recreate in a studio. Tall trees on either side, a dirt path underfoot, the last of the sun catching in Audra’s hair.

Audra and Garrett have been giddy with us from the very first conversation, and it did not stop for a second during their session. Genuine laughing. Foreheads together. That particular kind of smile that happens when someone leans in for a kiss and you can’t help but grin instead. None of it was directed. It’s just who they are together.

If you are nervous about being in front of a camera, here’s what these two remind us: the awkwardness fades fast. Most couples start a session a little stiff and end it laughing, and Audra and Garrett barely needed the warm up. By the second location, they were fully themselves.

The orchard setting gave us layered depth in almost every frame. Rows of trees leading the eye down a path, dappled light breaking through the canopy, and enough open space to let the couple move naturally instead of posing stiffly. It’s one of our favorite locations in the Gilbert area for exactly this reason.

There’s a difference between a couple performing affection for photos and a couple who are just affectionate. Audra resting her head on Garrett’s shoulder. Him kissing her cheek without being asked. Her hand on his chest, his hand finding her waist without either of them thinking about it. This is what actual comfort looks like, and it’s exactly what we hope every couple feels by the time we’re photographing their wedding day.

Audra and Garrett will say “I do” next year at Venue at the Grove. If their giddy in love session is any indication, their wedding day is going to feel exactly like this: relaxed, joyful, and completely themselves.
