Old Town Engagement Session
How they Met
Oh you guys!! I am loving the recent surge of high school sweetheart stories!! Lauren & Brendon first met at Valley Lutheran High School, it was freshman year when Brendon first laid eyes on Lauren and claims he loved her from that moment on. They were good friends throughout high school the half way thru their senior year that they actually started dating. They both went on to college at Concordia University Irvine, continued dating and found their love for each other grew so great they knew this was the real deal!!
The Proposal
It was a windy and cloudy July 4th morning when Brendon took Lauren up to Dobbins Lookout at South Mountain to propose as they looked out over the cliffs onto the Phoenix skyline. Lauren knew the proposal was happening on their trip up the mountain but she was still so excited and said “it was perfect in every way and I wouldn’t have changed a thing”. Brendon came prepared with a diamond of course but it wasn’t in the form of a ring… it was the diamond :). You can imagine how hard it would be to show off your engagement with a loose diamond… yep, pretty much impossible. Lauren had to wait a whole month before the ring was designed and created before she could wear it and show it off!! I love that they designed it together and let me tell you it was worth her wait cause it is a gorgeous ring!!
Their Scottsdale Engagement Session
The weather really wanted to challenge these two and determine what kind of troopers they are… first we had scheduled for August and decided it was just too hot so we changed to October thinking, perfect weather!! Well, even with the dark clouds and threat of rain… the weather ended up being incredible! The first half of the Scottsdale engagement session was amazing… beautiful, soft light and a slight breeze. Even with the rain, the second half was great too in the sense that we were able to add something that we don’t get to do very often in Arizona… an umbrella!! Yep, it rained almost the whole second half of the session but I am so glad it did cause we were able to create some great images! Besides… who doesn’t like kissing in the rain?!?!
Brendon and Lauren have a love that really apparent thru their words and how they look and hold each other! They really are a treat to photograph! I can’t get over Lauren’s amazing smile and how the two of them have the perfect little giggle when they snuggle close together! Guys, I was so thrilled to get to hear your story and run around in the rain with you guys!! I can’t wait for the wedding!! Big HUGS!!
