Dylan was in the Navy and stationed at Davis Monthan air force base down in Tucson and Amanda was going to U of A. Their first date was to see the movie and Amanda actually fell asleep, which shook Dylan’s confidence a bit, but afterward they hit it off. Dylan told Amanda that he could double wink and as she looked at him with curious anticipation, he just blinked both eyes normally and smiled at her. Amanda thought it was cheesy, but cute at the same time and Dylan jokes was what truly lured her in. She got his sense of humor and that’s when he knew she was the one. After the movie they went to grab a bite to eat and talked about anything and everything. They discovered their shared love for the zoo which became one of their regular date spots. Just before graduation Amanda broke her ankle and Dylan took amazing care of her. That’s when Amanda knew that he was unlike any guy she’d ever met. Dylan was better. Earlier this year Dylan signed up for the Army and left for ten weeks for basic training and even though he was exhausted at the end of every day, he’d write letters to Amanda before falling asleep. She has saved over fifty letters that he sent during that time. As they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder, and not long after his graduation from basic training they started to talk about marriage. This past August they took a trip out to San Diego while he was on leave. They shared a nice dinner and then went for a walk on the beach. He was so nervous, so they kept walking and walking until finally he summoned up the courage and said, “I have a shell in my shoe. Wait for me.” Dylan dropped to one knee and showed Amanda the ring. He then said, “Please say yes.” And here we are!!
Amanda and Dylan are so proud of his career as a soldier that they wanted to incorporate some of that in their wedding so they put together a military wedding just perfectly colored around his uniform. With the navy bridesmaid and flower girl dresses, the men in black suits and of course Dylan in his uniform, everything looked perfect together!! All this beauty set in front of the incredible architecture and landscaping at Villa Siena, nothing could have been better! Amanda and Dylan, congratulations!!! Thank you for allowing me to spend the day with you and your family, it was such a happy day and I wish you many, many more!! HUGS to you both!!the Wedding Team…
